Unlock! Print and Play is a cooperative card game inspired by real-life escape rooms. It uses an easy gameplay format that allows you to search scenes, combine objects you find, and solve intriguing riddles. The game is filled with of mind-bending puzzles and unexpected twists, as players cooperate in a race against time to find a way out of a variety of inventive and intriguing escape scenarios.
With one hour on the clock, players must work as a team with a deck of sixty cards to uncover clues and solve puzzles in a fun and imaginative escape room setting. When the team reaches a solution and enters the correct code into the app, they win the game! With 60 minutes counting down on app, players feel the same intense time pressure they would experience in a physical escape room. Before you set out to play Unlock! Print and Play, you will need to print out all the cards for the game and download the free application for Android or IOS. Open the Tutorial and Cards files and print them on light cardboard paper. The files allow you to print the cards both sides, or you can print fronts and backs separately, match and glue them together. Unlock! Rules for Print and Play
So, how do you play Unlock! Print and Play After learning about the details of the scenario, you start your adventure in a room: a location map is provided with various numbers.
Place the start card (with the name of the adventure) in the centre of the table, with the text face up. Place the other cards face down as a deck. Launch the app, and place the device on the table within easy reach of all players. One player reads the text on the start card aloud, launches the countdown in the app, and flips the card over. And so the game begins!
Search the room for various objects and clues, but take note: some of them may be well-hidden! You can combine found objects to get results. For example, a door card and a key card can combine their values. The key opens the door: turn the card of that combined value over and move on in the adventure! If not, the key is not the one needed.
Beware! Some combinations can result in penalties: an electric cable with a puddle of water could result in a short-circuit that would take away your time ! Visual or audio puzzles can also hinder your progress. It’s up to you to cooperate with your teammates to solve the puzzles and finish in time!
The free Unlock! application, downloadable with Android and iOS phones and tablets, is required to play. It allows you to get clues, find hidden objects, and enter the codes you discover. It also enhances the atmosphere with themed music for each adventure, along with audio riddles, terrible penalties, and a heart-pounding countdown!
